Blue Island Animal Acupressure, LLC

Mariann Carrasco began Blue Island Animal Acupressure, LLC after receiving her certification in Dog, Cat and Equine Acupressure from Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014 and 2015, respectively, and from NBCAAM in 2015.  Mariann has had a long history with horses, dogs and cats since childhood, and has had multiple individuals of each species her entire life.  She owned and operated a Morgan Horse breeding establishment for 35 years before retiring from breeding and has been breeding Australian Shepherd dogs for over 20 years.

After several years of Tai Chi and Qigong, she decided to pursue improving animals’ health with a holistic approach.  After some animal energy healing classes, Mariann pursued her certification in Equine, Dog and Cat Acupressure, which resonated well with her goals. Additional certifications in Animal Communication, Food Therapy, Reiki and Essential Oils have followed to provide several different modalities in which to provide alternative health care for our cherished companions.  Additionally a photonic torch and energy healing are offered on an as needed basis.

Mariann believes in assisting the whole animal rather than looking at individual systems and feels that using all these different modalities will offer a person a different way to help their four-legged companion.  Mariann offers her services to all of Whatcom, Skagit and San Juan counties in Washington.  Additionally, these services are offered in your own home where your animal is most comfortable.  Mariann has had animals and their companions attest to sometimes dramatic, but always beneficial, improvement in the animal’s health, both physically, mentally and spiritually.  Mariann not only has dogs, cats and horses in her life, but also parrots and a peacock.  She performs agility with her aussies and goes on many mountain trail rides with her Morgans.  Mariann can also offer demonstrations or clinics for those interested and she will continue to add healing modalities to strengthen her alternatives for animals in their care.  Mariann believes that national certification (NBCAAM) as well as the one offered by Tallgrass further defines her commitment to providing the best alternative care for animals.
