Blue Mountain Aussies

Mariann’s’ love for aussies began as a child when she worked on cattle ranches and aussies were used for herding the cows on a daily basis which led her to purchase her first aussie  in 1980. It has been a love affair ever since.  She began breeding aussies in California using the Cherry Creek prefix and Twin Oaks breeding for her stud and bitch, as she wanted to replicate the wonderful herding instincts.  After moving to Washington in 1992, Mariann continued with these bloodlines until her beloved Twin Oaks stud was gone and then took a break from breeding for 10 years.

In 2008, Mariann decided to try different bloodlines and purchased Hidden Treasurer’s Tigerlily NA DNA CP as a pup to be her agility dog and primary breeding bitch.  Lilly has excelled at agility, even though she is shown sporadically. She has also won in conformation as a young dog.  The goal of Blue Mtn. Aussies is to produce well rounded, well conformed athletic dogs with friendly, willing-to-please attitudes that are fast learners, traits for which the aussie is noted.

Lilly exemplifies this and her first two litters out of different sires attest to this.  See the 2010 litter by ASCA/AKC CH Blue Isle’s Unzip the Magic and the 2012 litter by MBIS GCH AKC/ASCA/CKC Whidbey’s Moonlight Frost RA RMOX 1 .  We were so pleased with the 2012 litter that we kept one of her pups to breed, Blue Mtn. 4 Leaf Clover.
We are planning for a litter for Clover in the future to see if she can carry on with her wonderful line.  Herding and conformation seem to be her standouts and what she loves as well as having an adorable personality.
